Daily Online Tarot Reading: Be Kind to Yourself in Order to Keep Fighting

Every week, I pull a few tarot cards to offer guidance on the path to your soul purpose. The cards in these posts offer quick and general guidance for the week. For a detailed reading with personal guidance on the path to your soul purpose, you can purchase a tarot reading on the site. Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps guide your path. Much love and blessings!

The 4 of Wands card wants us to know joy.

The 6 of Cups reversed card tells us to be generous with ourselves. Be kind to yourself and open to receive love.

The Knight of Swords reversed tells us to release the idea that life is a dragon to be slayed. There is a gentler way to accomplish your goals than plowing through them ferociously.

As I absorbed today’s reading and looked at the cards, I realized that this reading seems tone deaf with everything that’s going on in the world right now.

I realized how easy it is to give this reading as a white person and to accept it if you’re a white person. Even all of the people in the cards are white! I love the Rider Waite Smith deck, but seeing all of those white faces on the cards urged me to look for more diverse decks. There are a lot out there, including a list in this Wear Your Voice article.

I’m angry about the systemic racism that plagues our country. I don’t feel like celebrating, being generous with myself and releasing the urge to charge in and do something! We all need to do something about racial inequality. You probably feel the same way.

I think what this reading is trying to say is that amidst the chaos, we should find some moments of joy and to make sure we care for ourselves and let the love in. If we don’t, we’ll burn out fighting to death, and we all need to stay strong for the marathon of fighting for racial equality, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights and for equal treatment of all marginalized citizens.

We’re headed for change. This is large-scale, beneficial change that will require a lot from everyone fighting for it. Everyone in this fight needs to be able to sustain themselves and enjoy life in order to survive.

Saying that feels like my white privilege is showing, and, yes, my life absolutely is easier because I’m not discriminated against based on the color of my skin – and the fact that others are is absolutely disgusting. That thought makes me try unsuccessfully to fight back tears. I grieve for our black citizens, who are treated so unfairly because of the melanin in their skin. The unfair treatment of black people in America is horrifying and disgusting. I’m doing what I can to help.

Black people in our country have been surviving racial discrimination for hundreds of years and women have been surviving sex discrimination. They do so by taking care of themselves along the way. They continue to fight the fight without letting the injustice destroy them.

We will be stronger by letting the joy in. Celebrate your life. Celebrate yourself. You are amazing. You are wonderful. Be kind to yourself. We can do this.

Love and blessings! 💖
