The 2 of Pentacles calls for balance among work, rest and play while the Queen of Swords tells us to know what we want before proceeding on to the Ace of Pentacles reversed – starting new projects.
Normally, we would start with the Ace, one pentacle, before moving to balance two pentacles, but we aren’t starting life anew here. We’ve already got some pentacles in the air. We’re struggling to balance all of the things we’re doing now. So, of course, if you’re like me, you’re probably wondering what else you can fit in there right now, too. Our lives can’t wait!
However, to be successful in our goals, The Queen is right; we need to best manage what’s already on our plates, then get clear about what we want to achieve and how best to move forward before launching into something new.
She’s basically like our mom telling us to swallow our food before we start talking or we could choke to death. We should avoid choking ourselves to death on all of the things we want to get done. We have to:
1. Know how we’re going to balance our current projects into our lives first and still maintain our sanity, and
2. See clearly what we want in order to ensure we’re doing the right things to begin with.
We can, of course, do whatever we want, but our wise Tarot mom Queen of Swords does not want us to move past her rigid sword of truth, knowledge and wisdom until we think first.
I’m a business owner, so I’m constantly rushing into new projects to help grow my business, but then previously started projects languish as I try to accomplish stuff around the house, too, and I’m supposed to be resting and having fun somewhere in there. Yes, my work is fun, but it’s still work, so play and family time needs to be factored in. Sometimes, I feel like that guy in the 2 of Pentacles card, trying to keep his pentacles in the air with a volatile landscape shifting around him.
I’m both relieved for this reading to have permission to slow down and organize my life and annoyed that I have to slow down when I want to charge ahead. Let’s get going already! But, I get it. Creating without vision and planning often means that nothing actually gets done and what does get done probably won’t yield the results that I was hoping for.
Today, I ask you to join me in trying to organize what we already have going on before jumping into something new. We can do this!
Love and blessings! 💖
