The 5 of Cups shows that you are regretting a past action, which is OK, but the Wheel of Fortune reversed wants you to recognize the beneficial change within you that is occurring because of this past action.
Our past actions create who we are and open doors to a new beginning. Maybe you regret some action, as I do, related to the recent Tower event in your life. This reading tells us it’s OK to experience our feelings around that, but to recognize the gift this experience is giving us.
For example, I’m regretting not standing up for myself more after someone hurt my feelings. I kind of just caved, and I ended up apologizing to them without feeling like I was getting any compromise in return just to keep the peace. I’m a recovering people-pleaser who has made a lot of progress in my life regarding “the disease to please,” so this seems like a major setback for me.
It’s OK for me to regret not standing up for myself in that moment and how terrible it feels to have let myself and my spirit down, but I have to recognize the beneficial changes that are occurring within me as a result of my actions. This is a new beginning for me and an opportunity to grow even more – more than I would have had I not done what I did.
The Knight of Pentacles at the end tells me it’s OK to put my daily tasks on hold while I mourn the past and integrate these new lessons. My day-to-day duties will still be waiting for me when I’m ready to pick them up and move forward.
Is there something you’re regretting? Do you feel like you’ve let yourself down recently? That’s OK. Just know that your actions are creating beneficial change within you. Your actions are helping you grow.
Take a break from your to-do list to honor your feelings and see the gift in this experience before you move on. That’s how we build resiliency. It’s important to see the silver lining in these situations and integrate them into our lives. You may even realize that this occurrence is more than just a silver lining; it’s a gift that will make your life even better than it would have been had you not acted as you did.
I hope today’s reading helps brighten your perspective in order to embrace this new beginning and move forward with confidence.
