This week’s soul purpose Tarot reading tells me that we have been healing from past trauma, but feeling overwhelmed with things to do, and punishing ourselves for not doing them has caused a setback.
It seems that just when we’re making progress toward that new shore in the 6 of Swords card, we run into something else to heal from. It’s hard to heal from trauma and get stuff done at the same time, so we pile on the pressure.
The 3 of Swords represents the pain that we’re struggling with. We need to feel the pain of something that hurt us in our past in order to heal from it, but that 10 of Wands reversed on the end keeps us from making progress.
The 10 of Wands is our desire to get our daily tasks done. See how he’s facing the wrong way? He’s going backward – back toward the pain. This is a terrible feedback loop that we get stuck in. You try to heal, punish yourself for not getting things done, then you set yourself back emotionally while more tasks pile up. This is normal, but we must break out of this trap in order to heal and move forward.
Fall is a time for spirits as the veil between the living and the dead grows thinner, but these aren’t just spirits of the dead; they’re also spirits of the past. The veil between our past and present also thins, and anything that still haunts you about your past will come up during this time. You can feel haunted by it and retraumatized.
The message here, the advice, is to really take time to heal from the trauma of your past even if it means not accomplishing as many day-to-day tasks as you normally would or that you would like to. The seasons correspond to different activities. Spring and Summer are wonderful seasons for getting things done in the physical world, while fall is a wonderful time for clearing out the ghosts of your past so you can move forward lighter, and be more healthy and productive in the future.
Clearing past trauma can also be hard because as you clear one thing, something else often pops up to take its place. It’s exhausting. This is just your mind recognizing that you’re consciously healing yourself and getting excited. It’s seeing you heal from one thing and it’s like “ooo, and this one! Oh, and here’s another one! Yay! Clear this out, too!” Just go one step at a time – in clearing a creeping past and in trying to accomplish daily tasks. Also, drink plenty of water! Tea anyone? The element of water corresponds with emotions, so keep the water flowing within you to help cleanse your emotional body. Healing also involves some healthy crying, so it’s good to replenish the water and stay hydrated.
We’re all facing setbacks at this time. I’m posting this late due to one of these very setbacks. It’s OK. Try to go with it rather than fight against it. For help clearing away a haunting past, you can purchase my guide to releasing blocks or get it for free when you subscribe to my newsletter.
Try not to get down on yourself. This will pass. You’re doing great! We’ve got this!
Love and blessings! 💖
