The Knight of Pentacles shows that we have felt called to our purpose through a sense of duty.
The 3 of Swords reversed shows the first block in that path since our recent awakening or opportunity. We need to heal some deep aspect of ourselves. This healing is hard because it feels like we might be losing a part of ourselves when we heal this aspect. And, in a sense, we are but we will be so much stronger, healthier and happier on the other side. Think of this aspect of your personality like an addiction. Some harmful trait that you picked up somewhere along the way (possibly in childhood) that has helped you get through life, but might be a harmful crutch – like a harmful coping mechanism.
You don’t have to stop moving forward toward your goal, but working through this healing will help you on the way.
The 5 of Cups reversed shows that by healing and letting go of this harmful aspect of yourself that has been holding you back, you will be able to move forward. You won’t feel trapped in fear anymore on the path to your purpose – you will be free. It is important to mourn this loss so that you can embrace the new, powerful you that you have gained.
