The Ace of Pentacles reversed offers us a new beginning filled with material blessings from the Universe, but these blessings must start within us before they can manifest in the physical world.
That’s why we see Death reversed, urging us to let go of our limiting beliefs as he rides away from the 8 of Swords fears that keep us trapped in our current physical state and toward the blessings of the physical world in the Ace of Pentacles card.
Many fear the Death card, but I celebrate it in a reading because this card is freeing us from something that no longer serves us and is holding us back.
In this case, Death asks us to be free from fear. Death wants us to kill that part of ourselves that is so afraid to move forward that we keep ourselves bound in unpleasant circumstances just to feel safe.
The woman in the 8 of Swords card could free herself from her bindings and walk away, but she stays out of fear of the unknown.
Sometimes, living the happy lives that we want requires us to cast fear aside and embrace the unknown, the way the child in the Death card reaches out to Death with a bouquet of flowers. Sometimes, we need to take a leap of faith and just know and trust that we are moving in the right direction.
This is a hopeful and empowering reading that assures us that we can create the life we want if we’re willing to take leaps despite our fears.
