This week, the sweet 6 of Cups brings the message that if you give and receive love, your life will brighten. Be open to giving and receiving love whenever possible.
We have an interesting juxtaposition in this reading between the sweetest card in the deck and the naughtiest card in the deck: The Devil. The Devil reversed highlights our inner demons. We all have them. Our shadow side is a part of us, and rather than repressing it, we need to integrate that aspect into ourselves.
It’s time to recognize your shadow side and partner with it. We can only be so sweet. It’s healthy to add a little naughty to the mix as long as we’re not overdoing it. For example, only sweetness in a love relationship deprives us of our sexy side and may even make us too compliant and unable to stand up for ourselves.
This week, in order to feel well balanced and move away from feeling like life is a constant struggle, we should give and receive love, but also balance our overly sweet people-pleasing selves with our darker sides. It’s important to find a healthy balance rather than swinging too far in either direction. What we often perceive as our darker impulses, like anger, can actually be there to protect us. Our anger might be what helps us set healthy boundaries. But we need both aspects of ourselves working together to set boundaries in a loving way.
